Spotlight on Large Program Assessment & Roadmap

Large Program Assessment & Roadmap
Managing projects – IT or otherwise - is difficult and a large number of projects undertaken by otherwise successful organizations are failing to deliver their expected benefits. According to the “2009 Chaos Report” by The Standish Group, a Boston firm that has been publishing IT Project Success rates since 1994, only 32% of projects were successful, having been completed on-time and on-budget with all functions as specified. 24% of projects failed meaning that they were abandoned or cancelled becoming total losses and 44% were challenged, meaning that they were completed but over-cost, over-time and/or lacking functions specified. While project success rates like these may vary depending on who is surveyed and by whom, most IT and business leaders today understand these pressures through their personal experiences and observations.
Collaborative’s Large Program Assessment is a review of your Program from a business, technical and program management perspective completed via interviews, document reviews, workshops, observation, and analysis. It is a summary of findings coupled with prioritized recommendations for potential improvements layered in the form of an incremental action plan (roadmap).
Collaborative uses a distinctive, four step approach to this assessment:

Our objective assessment of your program approach and management will highlight risks that might impact time, cost or quality and create plans for mitigation or elimination of these risks. In addition, we will identify mismatches between business expectations and program deliverables and offer recommendations for bringing about alignment to ensure success can be achieved.
